During a visit to a Washington, D.C., jail earlier this year, Rep. Robert Garcia (D-Calif.) said that Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) treated inmates in the Capitol riot case like “heroes” and gave some of them embraces.
This Is Disgusting
Garcia was one of the two Democratic rookies who accompanied Greene on the March trip while serving on the House oversight committee. In a recent interview with MeidasTouch co-founder Ben Meiselas, Garcia stated, “The first thing she does is… greets them and hugs them and prays with them and apologizes and is treating them like heroes, and I’m sitting there going, this is disgusting.” “These people attacked our government, they tried to overthrow our government.”
She Treated the Defendants Like Celebrities
Greene was reportedly giving the inmates high fives and handshakes in March, according to an Associated Press story. The inmates had been detained and charged for their involvement in the violent uprising on the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021. Garcia said at the time that she gave the defendants celebrity-like treatment.
Victims of a “Weaponized” Justice System
Greene has been on a protracted quest for “justice” for the hundreds of individuals prosecuted over the attack, arguing they are “political prisoners” and victims of a “weaponized” legal system. Greene has continually changed history about the riot.
Garcia Reflects Back on Greene’s Behavior
After being questioned about a conspiracy theory that Greene and other conservatives, such as Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah), promoted over the weekend following the release of hours of uncut video from January 6, 2021 by House Republicans, Garcia took a close look at Greene’s actions.
The Man Was an Undercover Federal Agent?
It included a picture of a guy who was found guilty of breaking into House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) office and storming the Capitol. Right-wingers conjectured that the man was a federal undercover agent wearing a police badge and posing as a Donald Trump fan.
Totally Insane
The thing he was holding was really a vaporizer. The narrative was “totally insane,” according to Garcia.
These Folks Were Just Peaceful Is Sickening
He said to Meiselas, “The fact that Marjorie Taylor Greene and others are claiming that these folks were just peaceful is sickening.” Greene’s memoir, “MTG,” was just released to startling reviews and fact-checks due to her fabrication of the events leading up to the Capitol incident.
Greene’s New Memoir
Greene published her new memoir, “MTG,” early this month. The radical congressman’s statement on X, the former Twitter, sparked a barrage of scathing comments.
False Claims From Greene
With the book, the fervent Republican has pledged to provide her “side of the story.” However, the Guardian exposed that it contains a fabrication by Greene asserting that during the 2021 U.S. Capitol riot, no Democrats stayed in the House chamber to protect it from supporters of then-President Donald Trump.
The Obvious Link
Winning Team Publishing, which was co-founded by Donald Trump Jr., the son of the president, is the publisher of the book. Considering Greene’s track record of endorsing far-right policies and conspiracy theories, some internet opponents proposed different applications for the book, one of which was very harsh: the restroom.
Toilet Paper Is Cheaper
Others said they’d give it a hard pass. “Toilet paper is cheaper,” said one person.
Not All the Pages Had Been Flushed Yet
“I found a copy in my local library! Not all the pages had been used and flushed yet thank heavens!” remarked another user.
The First Memoir Written in All-Caps
It’s a good thing Jimmy Fallon can laugh so hard at Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s (R-Ga.) new book. On “The Tonight Show” on Wednesday, the comic declared, “It’s the first memoir written in all caps.”
Available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Wherever Other Fine Books Are Burned
“It’s titled: ‘Are You There, King of the Lizard People, It’s Me, Marjorie.’” “You can find it in bookstores heckling the other books,” he further continued. “It’s now available on Amazon, at Barnes & Noble and wherever other fine books are burned.”
Kimmel Joins the Lists of Greene’s Critics
“It’s titled: ‘Are You There, King of the Lizard People, It’s Me, Marjorie.’” “You can find it in bookstores heckling the other books,” he further continued. “It’s now available on Amazon, at Barnes & Noble and wherever other fine books are burned.”
It’s Brilliant
Kimmel showed footage of Greene advocating for the creation of a new House select committee to look at the last one, which looked into the Jan. 6, 2021, riot in the US Capitol that was sparked by Donald Trump. Kimmel snidely swiping, “It’s brilliant.”
