Almost a week after it was published, Marjorie Taylor Greene’s memoir “MTG” is still finding it difficult to take off and is now ranked significantly lower on Amazon than Republican Senator Ted Cruz’s book “Unwoke.”

A Garbage Book Far From Any Reality and Full of Imaginations

Published on November 21st, the contentious book by the Georgia Republican is presently ranked #9,735 among all popular books on Amazon. Only eight reviews have been left thus far, with an average rating of two stars out of five. The book was deemed “garbage” by one disgruntled reader who “voted for [Greene] twice,” while it was described as “far from any reality and full of imaginations” by another.

“Boring” and “Filled With Lies”

“MTG” was criticized harshly on Amazon by users who said it was “boring,” “filled with lies,” and had nothing to do with Magic: The Gathering,” a well-known card game that bears Greene’s initials.

In contrast, the political commentary book “Unwoke” by Senator Ted Cruz, which was published on November 7th, is still doing well with 1,023 total sales and ranks #6 in the political commentary category on Amazon. Cruz’s book was also given higher ratings overall, averaging 4.3 stars instead of 5.

Dumbest Idea Yet

Greene said in “MTG” that she will talk about the Capitol attack on January 6th, explain her advocacy of conspiracy theories, and provide “inside stories about the Swamp.” The book was criticized by late-night show Jimmy Kimmel as Greene’s “dumbest idea yet,” and former president Donald Trump advertised “MTG” on his Truth Social platform.

However, a week after its publication, Greene’s literary debut doesn’t seem to be as successful commercially as Cruz’s political manifesto. We’ll see if “MTG” can recover from its rough beginning as the crucial holiday shopping season goes on.

Tuesday night on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the comedian made fun of the legislator by stating, “It’s the first book she’s ever written or read,” and he gave the audience a humorous rundown of its contents.

“Speaking of Christmas in hell, Marjorie Taylor Greene released a book today. It’s the first book she’s ever written or read, and it’s called MTG, it’s got a little bit of everything,” he remarked.

What Happens When You Tell Your Supporters That Reading Makes Them Gay

“It’s got some revisionist history, it’s got conspiracy theories, it’s got Jewish space lasers, and of course Marje’s famous recipe for Gazpacho Police in a petri dish, which is getting a lot of negative views online, which I guess is what happens when you tell your supporters that reading makes them gay,” he further continued.

The comedian was making reference to a video from 2022 in which Ms. Greene seemed to mix up the name of the Gestapo, the Nazi party’s secret police, with gazpacho. In another video, the Maga Republican made the absurd claim that the government intended to make Americans eat fake meat grown by Bill Gates in a dish shaped like a peach tree.

A full chapter of Ms. Greene’s book is devoted to refuting antisemitic claims made in response to her widely shared 2018 Facebook post, which promoted the conspiracy theory that wildfires in California were caused by “Jewish space lasers.”

The politician has faced criticism for once again making untrue statements, despite her pledge to provide her “side of the story” on the events in the book. Ms. Greene asserted that following the Capitol riot on January 6, no Democrats were left in the House chamber to protect it from supporters of Donald Trump. This runs counter to several stories from the time.

Few Individuals Have Taken Congress by Storm in the Same Way She Has

Kimmel quoted a public relations representative for her publishing business as saying, “‘Few individuals have taken Congress by storm in the same way she has,’ which is true, and especially impressive when you consider most of the people who did take Congress by storm are in federal custody right now.”

Not a Bright Woman

“Marjorie Taylor Greene – not a bright woman. She says very stupid things on a daily basis but her new idea might just be her dumbest yet.” The fervent MAGA Republican has also suggested that a new January 6 House committee be established in order to look into the previous committee, which had suggested that Mr. Trump be charged in relation to the Capitol incident.

The Big Lie Is What Happened on January 6

“We need accountability so I’ve called on Speaker Johnson to create a new January 6 election committee because we need to hold the old January 6 committee accountable, Nancy Pelosi accountable, we need to subpoena the FBI, the Department of Justice, and anyone else who was involved in what I would call actually the real big lie. That’s the big lie is what happened on January 6,” she informed Newsmax.

“Oh, so she wants to create a January 6 committee to investigate the January 6 committee? And do January 6 all over again I guess,” Kimmel jested. “It’s brilliant!” he continued. “Does she need to write a book? Couldn’t we have given her some crayons and a Denny’s placemat and get that out of her system?”

Now They’re Pushing Bird Brain

During the program, Mr. Kimmel also made light of an attack advertisement that Mr. Trump had issued against Republican candidate Nikki Haley. “Fox News gave up on Ron DeSanctimonious. He’s turned out to be a disaster. Now they’re pushing bird brain. You know who that is? Nikki Haley,” Trump remarks in the video.

“What a message,” Kimmel commented. He made a joke, “Stern words from a man whose hair looks exactly like a bird’s nest.” Right now, Haley, the former UN ambassador, is behind Trump in the New Hampshire primary polls. She would defeat Florida Governor Ron DeSantis as well as President Joe Biden in the state, according to a recent survey.
