“The Only Thing Donald Trump Cares About Is His Own Personal Power”: Former White House Journalist Likens Trump to Benedict Arnold

According to a veteran White House reporter, Trump is a traitor who is more likely to find employment on the streets than win the presidency on Tuesday.

He’s Actually Demented, Devoid of Ideas

Journalist Brian Karem believes Trump will be remembered as being un-American. “He and his delusional followers will do anything to convince you he’s a shoe-in when he’s actually demented, devoid of ideas, delusional, disgustingly disingenuous, and a dreary, despicable, destructive do*che whose name will become historically synonymous with Benedict Arnold,” according to his tweet on Twitter/X.

Arnold, the Notorious Traitor

When Arnold switched sides as an American soldier and joined the British, he was labeled as the most infamous traitor to his nation. Karem was replying to a tweet from network executive Mike Sington expressing his opinion that a second term of Trump would involve the creation of internment camps, bringing to mind the nation’s dark past from the 1940s, when Japanese Americans were forced to reside in camps.

“If Trump wins a second term, he plans to round up millions of undocumented people in the US and put them in detention camps,” he remarked.

Karem took advantage of the situation. “‘IF’ is the conditional word here,” he stated in the tweet. “I remain unconvinced Donald Trump will even be on the ballot next November.”

Trump Is an Empty Threat

“He’s far more likely to be turning tricks on the street after losing most of his assets, or fighting to stay out of prison.” He went on to say: “Trump is an empty threat if you refuse to vote for his peculiar and destructive image of the Fascist Christian Nationalist States of America.”

Not the Only Time Trump’s Branded ‘Despicable’

Seems like this isn’t the first time, Trump’s called “despicable” by a White House reporter. In 2020, A foreign policy editor and a top official in the Clinton administration who has taught at Georgetown and Columbia, David Rothkopf made a similar remark about the former president in his book, ‘Traitor’.

Trump Despicable Beyond His Non-existent Character

“Trump is despicable,” he wrote. “But beyond his defective or perhaps even non-existent character, there are the near-term and lasting consequences of his actions. We must understand these to reverse them, and we must understand how easily Russia achieved its objectives in order to prevent such catastrophes in the future.”

Arnold Wrongly Accused of Being a Traitor?

Between outlining Trump’s crimes at the start and finish of this little book, Rothkopf gives a concise overview of the numerous previous Americans who have been falsely or correctly accused of treason, including Robert E. Lee, Benedict Arnold, Aaron Burr, and Alger Hiss. He includes a ton of fascinating historical anecdotes, such as the fact that Jefferson Davis and Abraham Lincoln were born less than a year and a hundred miles apart.

That Would Have Been Enough!

Rothkopf enumerates in ten pages all of Trump’s worst shortcomings at the book’s conclusion. The ancient Passover hymn Dayenu, which praises all of God’s blessings to the Israelites and ends with the refrain “That would have been enough,” struck as being reminiscent of his recital. Everything is over the top in Rothkopf’s rendition, though, and the ultimate pagan is the topic.

It’s the Corruption. But It’s Not Just the Corruption

“It’s the racism. But it’s not just the racism. It’s sex crimes. But it’s not just the sex crimes. It’s the concentration camps along our southern border. But it’s not just the concentration camps. It’s the corruption. But it’s not just the corruption.”

Systematic Destruction of Our Environment

“It’s the attacks on our most important allies and alliances. But it’s not just the attacks on our most important allies and alliances. It’s the systematic destruction of our environment …”

Trumpism “Is a Disease”

The author concludes that Trumpism “is a disease that has infected our system and is killing it”.

Arnold Deserves Better Than to Be Compared to Trump

People across the internet weren’t too happy with Karem comparing Trump to Arnold. “Very unfair. Benedict Arnold was a capable military leader. He deserves better than to be compared to DJT,” remarked one person.

He Wants to Treat Americans Like Wind-up Dolls

“The only thing Donald Trump cares about is his own personal power. He wants to treat Americans like wind up dolls and toy soldiers. He is a big kid who gets his jollies out of manipulating people and playing with all of us like cheap toys,” remarked another person.

People Don’t Want a Thriving America?

Many came to the rescue of Trump’s character, saying, “Why is it that people don’t want a thriving America? America was thriving with no worry of foreign threats while he was in office. Oh, that’s right, people just want free stuff and not work for a living these days.”
