“Republicans Are Too Frightened To Tell Her To Shut Up”: Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Cries To Impeach Biden Answered by Speaker Johnson

Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has consistently called for the impeachment of President Biden since his inauguration. She has put forth various allegations against the President and has engaged in contentious exchanges reminiscent of schoolgirl arguments with her GOP colleague, Representative Lauren Boebert. However, is a newfound alliance forming between Greene and Johnson?

A Very Deep Dive Into Biden’s Dealings

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene had expressed her desire for “a very deep dive” into President Biden and federal agencies, emphasizing the need for a thorough examination “no matter how long it takes.” Her remarks were made in conjunction with former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s announcement of a Republican-led impeachment inquiry against the President.

Greene told reporters, “It may go all the way to the November election. But what we need to do is we need to investigate Joe Biden,” She further added that an investigation into “the web of people that exist in our federal agencies, the FBI, the DOJ, the CIA, and many others, serving not only in this administration, the former administration and the one before it,” would be needed.

Impeachment Should Not Be Rushed

In September, Republican Representative Greene advised Congress against hastily proceeding with an impeachment vote for President Joe Biden, suggesting instead to vote for an impeachment inquiry.

Greene provided her explanation on X: “Here’s why..Our committee work has proven Joe Biden lied to the American people and not only does he know about Hunter’s business deals, he is involved,” She stated, “According to Devin Archer, ‘Joe is the brand they are selling.’”

There Is More at Stake

Greene explained that they had “grounds enough” to vote for impeachment but not to rush a vote as there was “more at stake.” She then alleged that “previous administrations, this administration, and federal agencies” had all conspired to “cover up unbelievable corruption and crimes committed by the Biden’s and Joe himself.”

A Very Tedious Impeachment Inquiry

“We need a very tedious impeachment inquiry that allows us to take a deep dive to uncover the traitors within that conspired together,” she declared. She then stated that the inquiry “must be done right. No matter how long it takes,” further stating, “patience will be the virtue that will lead us to the traitors within.”

Greene Pledged to Hold up Government Funding

In August, Greene had committed to obstructing government proceedings by voting against any government funding bill unless the House voted on an impeachment inquiry into President Biden. Her declaration caused discontent among some of her fellow GOP colleagues.

An Expert on Impeachment

GOP Rep. Ken Buck told MSNBC, “The idea that… she is now the expert on impeachment or that she is someone who should set the timing on impeachment is absurd,” he said in a scathing attack.

No Evidence of High Crime or Misdemeanor

Rep. Buck further stressed, “The time for impeachment is the time when … there’s evidence linking President Biden to a high crime or misdemeanor. That doesn’t exist right now.”

Boebert Steals MTG’s Thunder

Moreover, in June, she grew frustrated with House leadership for refusing to support her initiative to impeach President Joe Biden, while her Republican counterpart, Representative Boebert, seemingly overshadowed her efforts and a tit-for-tat ensued.

Greene told reporters, “Lauren Boebert never addressed the conference. But I made it clear to the conference that I have introduced articles of impeachment literally since Joe Biden’s first day in office on this Ukraine issue.”

Greene Has Introduced Multiple Resolutions

Greene proposed resolutions to impeach Biden, citing reasons such as “enabling bribery” during his tenure as vice president and accusing him of negligence in securing the southern border.

Boebert Copied Greene

Greene complained that Boebert had beaten her to the post and stated, “She basically copied my articles and then just introduced them and then changed them to a privileged resolution.”

Boebert denied that she was copying Greene and reportedly told HuffPost, “I’m not in middle school. This isn’t a copycat game,” Boebert further stated, “Copying her would be her going and demanding a vote on the floor, and then me going and doing it right after.”

Johnson Declared His Support

In recent developments, newly elected Speaker Mike Johnson has voiced his backing for the impeachment inquiry into Biden and his family’s business dealings. Johnson has advocated for additional interviews with witnesses under oath as the investigation approaches, what he called, “an inflection point.”

The Corrupt Conduct of the President’s Family

Johnson said in a statement, “At this stage, our impeachment inquiry has already shown the corrupt conduct of the President’s family, and that he and White House officials have repeatedly lied about his knowledge and involvement in his family’s business activities.” He added, “It has also exposed the tens of millions of dollars from foreign adversaries being paid to shell companies controlled by the President’s son, brother, and their business associates.”

Question Them Under the Penalty of Perjury

“Now, the appropriate step is to place key witnesses under oath and question them under the penalty of perjury, to fill gaps in the record,” Johnson said, stating that the investigation had his “full and unwavering support.”

I’m All for Cleaning the House

Users went online to discuss MTG’s calls for an inquiry. One user wrote, “I’m all for “cleaning the house” if Biden has done something illegal, punish him. But I’ve yet to see any evidence. I could say a lot of things. I could say the sky is green but that doesn’t make it true. And that outlandish statement is about at the same level of what MTG is at.”

Another posted, “The media loves every stupid thing she says and the Republicans are too frightened to tell her to shut up. It all really says all you need to know about what’s wrong with America today.”
