Biden’s popularity numbers are causing fear among many Democrats. Nevertheless, veteran GOP pollster William McInturff thinks these figures mean little unless he faces someone else who isn’t Donald Trump.

McInturff stated that Donald Trump is a deciding factor for many people, according to a remark from Ron Brownstein of The Atlantic. McInturff stated, “If 2024 is a Biden versus Trump campaign, we are in uncharted waters.” He said, “I have never seen a number like this NBC result between an incumbent and ‘challenger.’” According to Brownstein, the cause of it is Trump’s divisive speech.

Trump-Aligned GOP Alternatives Too Extreme

Author, political commentator, and journalist Brownstein describes how “a crucial slice of voters” in the 2022 and 2023 midterm elections viewed the “Trump-aligned GOP alternatives as too extreme.” The writer notes that that will probably influence the 2024 elections “as much as Biden’s record will.”

Topics Like Abortion, Education, and Social Security More Significant

Even if Trump is leading in the polls despite four indictments and many civil cases, a lot of people who disagree with Biden will side with what they perceive to be the lesser of two evils. Furthermore, issues like abortion, social security, and education may have greater political significance than Trump’s GOP; after all, elections are not about a single candidate, but about what parties stand for.

The Most Telling Passage

A press statement provides “a revealing window into his advisers’ thinking about how he might overcome widespread discontent with his performance to win a second term next year,” according to Brownstein, who also provided an update on Biden’s campaign on X. The statement contained what the journalist referred to as “the most telling passage.”

Responsibly Inform the Electorate of What Their Lives Might Look Like

“To meet the moment and responsibly inform the electorate of what their lives might look like if the leading GOP candidate for president is allowed back in the White House,” the Biden campaign’s press statement encouraged the media to do.

The Growing Fear of Trump’s Second Presidency

It will be an election year unlike any other, given the mounting apprehension about Trump’s second term in office and the latest accusations that the former president was adopting Hitler’s rhetoric.

More Than 20 People From Across the Political Spectrum Interviewed

A piece on “The Messenger” spoke with “more than 20 people … from across the political spectrum, including Democratic and GOP lawmakers, former senior DOJ leaders, Trump critics and the former president’s first-term lawyers, aides and advisors.” Each was questioned over Project 2025 of the Heritage Foundation, which would carry out President Trump’s previous threats to remove any federal employee who does not support him. Nobody believes that Trump will be able to jail his opponents and turn the government into his own personal fief.

The Easy Part Is Killing Cases

A former senior DOJ official told the website, “Those Article III judges will come out ready to filet you if they think you’re in there on behalf of the president of the United States in a criminal case directed by Trump. That’s why I say the easy part is killing cases. It’s one thing to tell a court the president directs us to pardon him. It’s another thing to say we didn’t have any real good evidence, but we did X, Y and Z.”

However, Trump has stated that this is exactly what he plans to do, promising to pardon everybody connected to the attacks on January 6.

Trump’s Act of Vengeance Against Comey and McCabe

The IRS conducted unusually intrusive and infrequent audits of former FBI Director James Comey and Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe. Although nothing was discovered, former Trump chief of staff Gen. John Kelly said that Trump was seeking retribution. But he refrained from confirming that the guys experienced it or that Trump ordered the audits.

Almost no official in the executive branch is allowed to order the IRS to audit a particular person’s taxes under federal law. Comey wanted to know whether Trump had him as a target. American Oversight filed a lawsuit against the IRS in 2022, requesting records pertaining to the audits; but, so far, nothing has come to light.

Cohen One of Trump’s Victims

Another person who opposed Trump’s weaponization of the Justice Department and authored a whole book on the subject is Michael Cohen. It was agreed upon by Cohen when he was incarcerated that he would not be allowed to write or speak to the media about Trump upon his release from home confinement.

When Cohen refused, he was sent back to jail until a vengeful judge released him on the grounds that the demand was unlawful. Since then, Cohen has battled daily to get federal records demonstrating that Trump issued the order in question. He has expressed clearly that, should Trump win, he believes he will imprison him. The government acknowledged that just 500 of the 480,000 papers pertaining to the case could be processed each month.

Senate Republicans Refuse to Remove Trump for Bribery Scheme

“The Messenger” attributed Trump’s initial impeachment to Rudy Giuliani’s investigation of Joe Biden in Ukraine. The essay highlighted that the vote itself was an example of Congress taking action. However, the article omits to mention that Senate Republicans declined to remove Trump due to the bribery plot. In fact, they flatly refused to listen to any kind of proof on the subject.

GOP Rep. Tom Emmers Makes It to Trump’s Vengeance List

Trump’s mission of revenge was furthered when he challenged Republican Rep. Tom Emmers (R-MN), who was the front-runner to succeed ousted Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA). In 2020, Emmer cast a vote to validate the election. Republicans do not solely include Emmer.

Cheney and Kinzinger the Latest of Trump’s Enemies

Members of Congress including Reps. Liz Cheney (R-WY) and Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) who backed the House Select Committee looking into the 2020 race were targeted by Trump. Both faced opposition from rivals who backed Trump during the primaries. Others had the same difficulties and managed to keep quiet while losing in primaries.

Really Think President Trump Is Going to Turn the Other Cheek?

Mike Davis, a far-right fringe candidate whom Trump may select to serve as interim attorney general, stated, “I’d strongly advise President Biden to pardon himself and his family because, believe me, they’re next.” “Does anyone really think President Trump is going to turn the other cheek?”
