“I Wouldn’t Expect Him To Conduct Himself in an Honorable Manner”: Biden Ramps up Trump Criticism as Presidential Race Heats Up

Biden initiated his campaign on a note of optimism, but recent polls indicate a distinct lack of optimism among voters regarding his chances for a second term as President. In September, Biden’s campaign subtly criticized his primary opponent, former President Trump, providing what CNN called “a taste of Biden’s reelection message.” However, with Trump maintaining a lead in the polls as the Presidential election approaches, Biden’s campaign appears to emphasize a narrative that a Trump presidency could pose a significant threat to democracy.

A Taste of Biden’s Reelection Message

The observation from CNN back in September was that Biden had not previously been particularly “forceful” in calling out the behavior of his rival, Trump. However, Biden’s messaging seemed to shift in what CNN called “a taste of Biden’s forthcoming reelection message” as Biden attacked Trump at an event in Arizona, honoring the Legacy of Senator John McCain.

Guided by Vengeance and Vindictiveness

In remarks published by the White House, Biden said that Trump was “not guided by the Constitution or by common service and decency toward our fellow Americans but by vengeance and vindictiveness.” Biden continued, “We see the headlines. Quote, ‘sweeping expansion of presidential power.’ Their goal to, quote, ‘alter the balance of power by increasing the President’s authority over every part of the federal government,’ end of quote.” Biden talked about Trump’s plans to deploy the military if he won the election.

An Extremist Movement

CNN further reported that Biden had said during the same speech in Arizona, “There’s an extremist movement that does not share the basic beliefs of our democracy: The MAGA movement.”

Biden’s remarks marked a significant change in his campaign messaging, as he had previously hesitated to discuss his opponent. Biden also stated, “There’s no question that today’s Republican Party is driven and intimidated by MAGA Republican extremists,” and further added, “Their extreme agenda, if carried out, would fundamentally alter the institutions of American democracy as we know it.”

“Trump says the Constitution gave him the right to do whatever he wants as president,” Biden said. “I’ve never heard presidents say that in jest,” he declared.

Retribution and Treason

In his speech, President Biden called out Trump for vowing “retribution” and suggesting that Gen. Mark Milley was involved in collusion with China, which was, in historical times, punishable by death.

Biden’s Campaign Intensifies

As of late, Biden appears to be intensifying his criticism of Trump, given the evident challenges he faces in terms of popularity, with Trump consistently outperforming him in various polls.

A Vision of a Catastrophic Future

According to recent reports from The Associated Press, Biden has intensified his criticisms of Trump in campaign emails and has “begun painting a vision of a catastrophic future for the United States — that is, if Donald Trump returns to the presidency.”

Campaign Emails Contain Stark Warnings

The AP reported that emails sent for Biden’s Presidential campaign consisted of warnings like “Trump’s America in 2025: A Unilateral National Abortion Ban” and “Trump’s America in 2025: Mass Detention Camps.”

There have been widespread reports indicating that Trump has suggested the most extensive operation for the apprehension and deportation of migrants in the history of the United States. However, as AP has pointed out, Trump has not endorsed a federal abortion ban. In fact, Trump has refused to endorse a federal ban, stating he did not want to take an “unpopular position.”

In the past, Trump cautioned Republicans against adopting stances that lack popularity among the majority of the public. He argued that the Supreme Court’s decision grants abortion opponents the authority to “negotiate” restrictions on abortion at the state level. Trump had previously stated it “moves the issue back to the states … where it should be.”

Abortion Rights Central to Biden’s Campaign

On the flip side, President Biden is placing abortion rights at the core of his reelection campaign. However, attacking Trump on his abortion stance seems to be another of the Biden campaign’s tactics.

Trump Has Led the Way for Abortion Bans

Ammar Moussa, a spokesman for Biden’s reelection campaign, recently said in a statement, “Led by Donald Trump, who’s done more to pave the way for abortion bans than anyone in history, MAGA Republicans are poised to again be rejected by the American people who want women to have the freedom to make their own health care decisions.”

Biden Talks of Trump’s Nazi Rhetoric

Biden was also quick to jump on Trump’s messages promising to “root out” those he called “vermin.” In a speech in San Francisco, Biden accused Trump of using Nazi rhetoric, an accusation that people across the political sphere widely made.

A campaign spokesman for Trump, Steven Cheung, responded to the President’s claims, stating Biden was “tearing democracy to shreds.”

Biden Not Conducting Himself in an Honorable Manner

Cheung called Biden’s comments “ despicable and racist” and added, ”But I wouldn’t expect him to conduct himself in an honorable manner. He’s clearly suffering from a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome and should get professional help.”

Allowing Others to Drag the World Into Danger and Division

Biden has also recently posted strong messages on X warning of the dangers of division. He posted, “The choices we make today will determine the direction of our future for generations to come. So, will we relentlessly pursue our vision or allow others to drag the world into danger and division? America cannot, and will not, let that happen.”

A Very Dangerous Future

Biden previously posted another attack on Trump as he attempted to strengthen his support concerning his stance on climate change, “My predecessor and much of the MAGA Republican Party still deny that climate change is a problem. Anyone who willfully denies the impact of climate change is condemning the American people to a very dangerous future.”

The Dangers of Having a Fascist Autocratic President

People went online to discuss Biden’s change in tone. One user wrote, “Joe Biden understands the dangers of having a fascist autocratic president and is warning the country about it. Here’s why that’s bad news for Joe Biden.” Another said, “You can be an optimist that democracy will prevail over fascism.”
