In America, some places are like heaven on earth, and other areas aren’t that great. Scientifically, the states have been ranked on several factors to determine which parts of the country are considered the worst. Here are 15 states that are at the bottom of the chart.

Mississippi

This state suffers from schools that are failing, high unemployment, and wages that are seen as some of the lowest within America which has contributed to poverty in Mississippi. Teen pregnancy is another issue that makes this one of the worst places in the US

Louisiana

In Louisiana, there is an unfair distribution of wealth. The education system isn’t adequate to meet the needs of the students which has caused many to belittle learning and schools.

Alabama

In Alabama, the life expectancy is 10 years less than those living in San Francisco. The Yellowhammer State also has a high infant mortality rate. Women find that they are highly discriminated against in areas such as being involved in politics and income levels.

West Virginia

The government has done little to help lift those in West Virginia from crippling poverty levels. Education levels are also some of the lowest in America.

Arkansas

People in Bear State are faced with low incomes and a high cost of living. Unsurprisingly, the quality of life is the lowest in America. Not many teenagers decide to go to college which only adds to the poverty issue.

Oklahoma

A quarter of the children here fight hunger. It has the highest rate of female prisoners and an infrastructure that is in ruins due to the effects of earthquakes that have hit the region. The education system is in crisis as a result of consistent tax cuts.

Kentucky

Kentucky has a history of low wages which makes it hard for anyone in the state to make a decent living. The school system is also failing through lack of funding and outdated teaching materials, There is also a major problem with substance abuse and mental health that this state is struggling to cope with.

New Mexico

This state ranks highest for the number of people in poverty. It also sees little to no income growth for those in jobs. It also tops the list with the crime rate.

Nevada

Those living in Nevada are the second lowest educated in the entire USA. The school system is severely underfunded. Another problem is that the healthcare available in this state is among the worst.

South Carolina

If you enjoy driving on bad roads, then head over to South Carolina where the roads are the worst in America. Then there is the education system which is placed near the bottom of the ranking list for quality. It’s not an ideal state in which to raise a family either due to the low household income in which it’s hard to meet basic needs.

Georgia

If you want to earn a living, avoid moving to Georgia. It is stuck in a rut of paying around minimum wage. The number of homeless is growing here.  Tropical storms can cause havoc for the state and there are issues with traffic congestion. Want to use public transport? You may be out of luck depending on which part of Georgia you live in.

Alaska

A state that has a high crime rate. The number of rapes is also near the top of the list in comparison to other parts of America. Alcohol consumption is rampant in many areas. The geography of Alaska makes it hard for healthcare and other emergency services to reach those in need.

Tennessee

With people pushing for more inclusion in society, Tennessee is well behind with discrimination against the LGBTQ community. Less than half the population exercises. A quarter of Tennesseeans have a university degree. Another downside to living in this part of America is that it has the third-highest crime rate in the nation.

If you having breathing issues, then avoid Arizona as the air quality is bad. The healthcare infrastructure is underresourced. Like most other states on this list, crime is a big concern with Arizona making its way to the bottom of the personal safety rankings.

This comes in as the second worst state to live in. It scores low on worker inclusion and protection and the wages hover around the minimum hourly rate. The roads require repair and power infrastructure is on the verge of collapse. Then there are the hurricanes…
