“Trump Would Fail an Actual Intelligence Test”: Donald Trump, Once Again, Brags About Passing Test Designed for People With Dementia

Criminal defendant Donald Trump has continued his furious tirade against Murdoch-owned outlets such as Fox News and The Wall Street Journal. This time, he was angry because they dared to ask readers for opinions about his age.

A Dementia Test

The situation has led the former president to, once again, brag about the mental test he “aced” in 2020, a test that anyone without dementia would pass – including children. “In a phony and probably rigged poll, coming out of nowhere to soften the mental incompetence blow that is so obvious with Crooked Joe Biden, they ask about my age and mentality,” the criminal defendant said.

“Where did that come from? A few years ago, I was the only one to agree to a mental acuity test and aced it,” Trump continued. The “mental acuity” test the former president spoke of was the Montreal Cognitive Assessment. It did not, in fact, examine his mental acuity. The test is designed to measure cognitive decline over time.

Trump discussed the test in an interview and admitted that the memory questions, where he was asked to remember a sequence of five words, were the hardest. He went on to challenge several others to take the test, including Rupert Murdoch and Joe Biden.  “I will name the place and the test and it will be a tough one. Nobody will come even close to me,” he said.

The former president went on to challenge them to a physical test, too. He said: “We can also throw some physical activity into it. I just won the Senior Club Championship at a big golf club, with many very good players. To do so, you need strength, accuracy, touch, and mental toughness.”

The Internet’s Response

Trump has a history of rambling on about his “acing” of the Montreal Cognitive Assessment. As such, people are seemingly getting a little tired of it. News of his latest flex was shared across the internet, and unsurprisingly, most people mocked the criminal defendant.

A Lot of Confusion

A fair few commenters expressed their confusion regarding the former president’s pride in his “accomplishment.” Many pointed out that virtually anyone would pass the test – even children – because it’s designed to detect signs of dementia, not measure someone’s mental acuity.

An IQ Test

Some people challenged Trump to take another test, a harder one actually designed to measure someone’s intellectual abilities. A few people recommended IQ tests, but others rejected that proposal, saying that the type of intelligence such assessments measure is too limited.

Age Limits for Office

Others rejected the idea of tests altogether and said that age limits in politics are the only way forward. These people felt that it was just as much about giving younger generations a chance as it was about ensuring the POTUS is mentally competent.

President Joe Biden

While most people criticized and mocked the criminal defendant, a few of his supporters popped up from time to time. These people, rather than commenting on Trump’s age or mental state, usually discussed President Biden and his alleged mental decline.

A Harder Test

One social media commenter wrote: “I am so sick and tired of hearing about this test. Trump, if you’re so confident in your intellectual abilities, take another one. A harder one. I know! Take an IQ test. A proper one, not an online one. While I admit you must have some level of intelligence to get to where you are, I imagine you’re pretty average.”

Calling People Stupid

Another individual said: “The fact that he keeps boasting about this just proves how stupid he thinks we all are. If you’re a Trump supporter, he’s calling you stupid. Know that. He doesn’t think you’re going to take three seconds to research the test he claims he passed.”

It’s Supposed to Be Easy

Echoing the aforementioned commenter, another person wrote: “The doctor behind the test he took literally said it’s supposed to be easy for most people. I can’t tell if Trump doesn’t know this or if he thinks we’re too idiotic to realize.”

He Would Fail

One person said: “Trump would fail an actual intelligence test. I’m sure of it. The guy can’t even string together a coherent sentence. Like, ever. Yet he criticizes Biden for failing to string together sentences on occasion.”

A Very Easy Test

Others tried to convey just how easy Trump’s test is. One individual wrote: “I have a traumatic brain injury and subsequent cerebral small vessel disease which forced me [to retire from] from the military. I can ace the [Montreal Cognitive Assessment].”

Trump and Mental Decline

Another commenter wrote: “As in most things for Trump, this is about him. He has been watching things slip away. He has been hearing the whispers about the two-handed drinking, ramp walk, and general mental decline. I think he was starting to believe it.”

Not Into Dementia Territory

The commenter continued: “He was worried about it. And then he took a test that said he was – probably barely – not into dementia territory. So he is bragging because that is the only way he knows how to celebrate.”

A Personal Story

Others shared personal stories. One such individual said: “I had to take [the Montreal Cognitive Assessment] after a particularly bad concussion, and I still ‘aced’ it despite trying to be smart for the ‘name the animal’ part and giving them people names.”

A MAGA Opinion

Despite the criticism, supporters of Trump did leave comments from time to time. One said: “Okay, so the test is meant to be easy. I hear you all. Then why doesn’t Biden take it, huh? President Trump is ‘bragging’ because Crooked Joe Biden wouldn’t be able to pass the test that he did.”
