“How Do People Listen to the Absolute Drivel That He Spews?”: Trump’s Latest Campaign Promises Are Astoundingly Bizarre

Donald Trump has always been a rather eccentric character. Regardless, some of his latest campaign promises have left eyebrows raised.

Scrapping Electric Vehicles

Trump has, once again, skipped a Republican primary debate. Instead, he went to Michigan to pretend to support worker’s rights amid the United Auto Workers strikes. He told the crowd that they’ll all lose their jobs if electric vehicles become the norm. “Just get your union guys, your leaders, to endorse me, and I will take care of the rest,” he said.

The Picket Lines

“You’re all on the picket lines and everything, but it doesn’t make a damn bit of difference what you get because, in two years, you’re all going to be out of business,” he went on to say, going as far as to compare Biden’s support for electric vehicles to an assassination.

Destroying the Environment

The Biden administration has set goals to make 50% of U.S. vehicles zero emission by 2030. Trump seemingly doesn’t believe this is a priority and, even more worryingly, said: “We will drill, baby, drill, and it will have zero environmental difference.”

Speed Limit Regulations

In reference to a change suggested by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Trump has also promised to eliminate “Biden’s ridiculous speed limit regulations” for boats. The purpose of the NOAA’s proposal is to protect an endangered species of whale.

Wind Turbines and Whales

Despite seemingly not caring about the safety of whales, Trump’s been pretty clear on what he believes is the biggest threat to their lives – wind turbines. The former president claimed that “windmills” are causing whales to “die in numbers never seen before.” He did not provide evidence.

A Little Batty

The criminal defendant also claimed that wind turbines “are driving [whales] crazy. They’re driving the whales, I think, a little batty. And they’re washing up on shore at levels never seen before, and they want to stop your boats.”

Media Outlets and Treason

In another bizarre promise, Trump vowed to investigate media outlets for “treason.” On social media, he said: “They are almost all dishonest and corrupt, but Comcast, with its one-side and vicious coverage by NBC, and in particular MSNBC, often and correctly referred to as MSDNC – Democrat National Committee – should be investigated for its country-threatening treason.”

The LameStream Media

Continuing his attack on the media, the criminal defendant said: “I say up front, openly and proudly, that when I win the presidency of the United States, they and others of the LameStream Media will be thoroughly scrutinized for their knowingly dishonest and corrupt coverage of people, things, and events.”

The Internet’s Response

News of Trump’s bizarre promises was shared across the internet, and, for the most part, people mocked him and called for him to be sent to prison. A lot of people felt like the former president was making things up on the spot to try and win support from various groups.

A Ridiculous Idea

Discussing Trump’s speech in Michigan, one commenter wrote: “Saying that electric vehicles will put car makers out of business sounds ridiculous to me. Who is going to manufacture the electric vehicles if not car manufacturers?”

Out of Touch

Others implied that the former president’s promises are so bizarre because he’s old and out of touch. One person said: “Trump’s ideas are nuts. He is too old and out of touch with the times. A cheater on every level. Loves and respects dictators, wants people jailed.”

A Menace to Society

Another commenter wrote: “He’ll never be elected. He has never won a presidential election. He cheated in 2016 with the Russians, and he just plain lost in 2024 because people know he is a menace to society.”

Admiring Authoritarian Dictators

Others addressed Trump’s tendency to avoid explaining how he intends to implement his promises. One individual said: “He is such an embarrassment, and I’m sure the world is laughing. Since he won’t debate, no one gets to ask how he plans to get all of these ideas done. Was it Putin or Kim Jong Un that he exchanged lovely love letters with? It escapes me.”

Spewing Absolute Drivel

Some people expressed disbelief regarding Trump’s support. “How do people listen to the absolute drivel that he spews and come away thinking he’s a genius? I’ve heard two-year-olds with better comprehension,” one person said.

A Threat to Democracy

Echoing the aforementioned individual’s disbelief, another commenter wrote: “How can anyone ever believe anything that comes out of the man’s mouth? Trump is the enemy of the people and a true threat to democracy!”

God’s Mysterious Ways

Others pointed out that the former president has seemingly been becoming more and more insane since he lost the election. One person said: “I love how losing the election is causing him to lose his mind. This will eat at him until his dying day. There is a God after all, and he does work in mysterious ways.”

A Stark Warning

One person, referencing the 2016 election, left a stark warning. “People need to be careful. Trump lost the popular vote in 2016 but still became president. Almost everyone thought he would lose,” they wrote.

A MAGA Moron

Summing up the opinion of most commenters, one individual wrote: “How can anyone listen to this MAGA moron, let alone vote for him? His new plans are even worse than his recommendation to inject bleach to cure COVID. His ‘facts’ are based on lies and his own imagination.”
