A woman shared on an internet forum how she was cruelly bullied, but found a way to turn the tables on one of the mean girls who made her life hell.
The Perfect Victim
She said, “In school, I was relentlessly bullied. Two mean girls in particular had it out for me, they were the ringleaders. I was shy, loved to read, and didn’t do the popular stuff, so I was the perfect victim.”
Pinned Down
She described their treatment of her as literal torture. The girls would hold her down on the staircase, them stick pinboard pins into her arms, legs and feet. When she tried to tell teachers, the girls said she fell onto them, or that she did it to herself.
A Teacher’s Daughter
The woman said, “It didn’t help that one of the bullies was the daughter of a teacher at the school. This teacher’s colleagues didn’t want the hassle of reprimanding their colleague’s daughter.
Dreaded School
She dreaded going to school, knowing that she would be subjected to ridicule and physical abuse. It didn’t seem like there was anything she could do to stop it.
Her Friends Were Too Scared
“I had a few friends, but wasn’t popular like them,” she said. Her friends and other classmates were too afraid to speak up, in case they became the next victims.
Couldn’t Avoid Them
She had classes with at least one of the girls each day, so there was no way of avoiding them. The others knew her classes and would wait outside the classroom.
Finally Left School
It was a relief when she finally left school, and carefully chose a college that she knew none of the mean girls were going to. She could finally get on with her life without being afraid every day.
Years Later
Years later, she was enjoying her day and the nice weather, and decided to treat herself to some ice cream. She went into a new ice cream shop that she had heard good things about.
Ice Cream Allergies
She went into the shop and it turned out one of the girls from school worked there (now a woman). She said, “I have multiple allergies, including milk and gluten, of which the ice cream shop claimed to be cautious.”
Ordered Gluten-Free and Dairy-Free
After ordering gluten-free and dairy-free ice cream she set her phone camera to film the area where the ice cream was prepared. It was obvious that the woman had recognized her from school, and would probably try something to hurt her.
Caught on Camera
“I caught her on camera putting a spoonful of milk in the bottom of the bowl and crumbling the gluten-consisting wafers over everything, then camouflaging it with the last scoop of ice cream,” she recalled. “She put it down in front of me and told me that she hoped I enjoyed it, with a snide smile on her face.”
Thanked Her
She put on her best smile and asked the bully if she could get the owner of the shop, because she wanted to thank her for being so welcoming to guests with allergies. The woman was quick to fetch him, thinking she would be made to look good to her boss.
Showed Her The Video
“You can guess what happened next,” She said. “I showed the owner the video and told her that I’d like to press charges because it is considered a criminal offence called ‘inflicting bodily harm’ to serve someone an allergen when you know the person is allergic.”
Criminal Record
The bully will never work anywhere where she’ll come in contact with food again. She’ll have this on her criminal record for years.
Doesn’t Make Up for the Bullying
She finished by saying, although it didn’t make up for the bullying, it did make her feel better. It took her years to get over the physical and verbal abuse inflicted on her when she was back in school.
Revenge Is Sweet
Many people agreed with her method of revenge. One man said, “Revenge is ice cream; sweet, and best served cold. Good revenge, nicely done.”
Could Have Gone to Hospital
Another person said, “If you had consumed the dairy or the gluten, you might have had to go to the hospital. Allergies are not fun.”
Not Petty
One woman confirmed, “This isn’t petty, it was doing what you needed to protect yourself. I’m sorry these girls were so awful to you and I’m glad they’re no longer in your life.”
