Trump has gained the nickname “Diaper don” as social media users mocked his son Eric’s complaints over the smell in the New York courtroom where the former President’s New York fraud trial continues.

Trump Attends His Fraud Trial in New York

The former President has frequently appeared in the New York court where prosecutors have alleged that he, his family and his company intentionally exaggerated property values as part of an insurance fraud scheme. Trump has strongly asserted his innocence in this matter.

Trump and Sons Found Liable for Fraud in September

In September, Trump, his sons, and the Trump Organization were found liable for fraud. The New York judge, Arthur Engoron, stated Trump and his sons had provided false financial statements for almost ten years.

Trump’s Sons Appealed the Pre-trial Ruling

In reaction to Judge Engoron’s pre-trial decision, Trump and his sons have filed an appeal. The summary judgment directed the revocation of certain business licenses in New York and the transfer of properties mentioned in the ruling to independent receivers.

Trump Lost Bid to Halt the Trial

The civil fraud trial involving Donald Trump will proceed, as the former President’s attempt to suspend the proceedings was unsuccessful. “Once again, Donald Trump’s attempts to delay this trial have been rejected,” the New York Attorney General James said in a statement. “Yet another court denied his efforts to evade justice for his years of fraud. But Donald Trump lives in a fantasy world where money grows on trees and facts don’t matter.”

An appeals court judge rejected Trump’s request to temporarily halt the New York trial but has allowed him to retain control of his assets.

Will Trump Be Able to Operate Business in NY Again?

With the trial mostly behind Trump, the remaining issues to be resolved include whether New York Attorney General James will secure the total $250 million in damages she is pursuing and whether the Trump family will be granted permission to resume business operations within the state.

Trump States Not All Evidence Is Being Presented

Nonetheless, Trump firmly denied any wrongdoing and made accusations against Doug Larson, an appraiser who testified against him, stating that Larson was not telling the truth. Trump also asserted that the court possessed evidence demonstrating Larson’s dishonesty but had not presented it.

Trump Speaks Out During Court Recess

During a court recess, Trump raised concerns about specific evidence not introduced in the trial. “See what’s happened? The government lied. They just lie. They didn’t reveal all of the information that they had,” Trump said. “They didn’t reveal all the evidence that made me totally innocent of anything that they say.” Stated Trump.

So, What Did Eric Trump Say?

Former president Trump has not been mandated to appear in court, yet he has. Some believe it is to put on a show for opposing legal counsel and his supporters. His son Eric has also appeared in the courtroom, while Trump’s eldest son is allegedly keeping a low profile in Florida. So, what did Trump’s son Eric say to generate such a significant outburst of jeering online?

“A Representation of Our Legal System”

“The courthouse I was in today. It was disgusting, Carl. It smells. You had cables running across all the walls. It’s a disgrace…” said Eric Trump in a live interview with right-wing media network NewsMax. “…that’s a representation of our legal system in this country,” he continued.

Eric Trump Criticized Averted Government Shutdown

Eric expressed his discontent regarding the narrowly avoided government shutdown. The shutdown nearly came over a specific concern over additional aid to Ukraine in the funding package. A growing number of Republicans are adamantly against increasing support for Ukraine in its defense against the Russian invasion.

“We Are Falling Behind the Rest of the World.”

“Do I think it was a mistake not shutting down the government? 100 percent. They should’ve,” Eric said. “We are running a $2 trillion deficit, and our bridges are falling down, and our roads suck, and our trains are antiquated; they are from the 1950s. You look at China, where they are building these bullet trains that go 300 miles per hour. We are falling behind the rest of the world.”

Is Trump an Unsung Hero?

Social media users jumped to Trump’s defense online: “I say Trump is the unsung hero. When you’re a criminal, you keep a low profile and don’t brag about your crimes,” a user posted online, implying Trump’s innocence. Another user defended Trump: “It never happened when Trump was there!” stating shutdowns didn’t happen when Trump was President.

Trump Nicknamed Diaper Don Over Son’s Complaints of Bad Odor

However, other social media users were outraged by Eric Trump’s statements. “It’s Diaper Don. He soiled himself again.” One user mocked. Another user just posted “diaper don.” “Wait for the jail cell smell,” said another as posts flooded in over Eric’s live interview.

The History of Justice

Another user lashed back at Eric’s post, stating the Courthouse was the “History of Justice.” “New York County Supreme Court is not disgusting, nor does it smell,’’ wrote one X user. “It has a magnificent mural in the ceiling of its central rotunda detailing the history of justice from ancient times. It is a consummate courthouse, and Eric Trump is just a whining crybaby.”

New York Can Refurbish Courthouse With Trump Org. Assets

Another X user responded to Eric Trump, writing, “I read that you were concerned about the condition of the courtroom (broken tiles, cables and the bad smell). After they liquidate all of the Trump Org. assets, New York City will have ample funds to refurbish the entire courthouse. PROBLEM SOLVED.”

The “Smell of Justice”

“That’s the smell of JUSTICE being served. The odor of justice isn’t pleasant for the worst offenders.” A user wrote online. The trial against Trump is expected to continue until mid-December when all eagerly await the outcome.
