Kimmel, the talk show host, couldn’t resist commenting during the October 16 episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live” following the news that a federal judge overseeing the January 6 trial had imposed a partial gag order on Donald Trump.
Trump Saw the Gag Order as a Fundraising Opportunity

Trump appeared to view this partial gag order as an opportunity for fundraising. In an email to his supporters, the former President suggested that a proposed gag order would prevent him from openly criticizing President Biden. These claims are part of a larger strategy by Trump and his supporters to portray the various legal actions against him as politically motivated. “If Joe Biden gets his way, this would be the LAST email I send to you,” Trump supposedly wrote.

“We’re still able to say pretty much anything we want,” Kimmel quipped during his show.

The partial gag order prevents Trump from making hostile remarks about witnesses, personnel, and the prosecutors linked to the criminal case. Judge Tanya Chutkan issued the gag order on the day following the former President’s social media post.
