Donald Trump’s relationship with his current wife, Melania Trump, has been called transactional by attorney and political commentator Ron Filipkowski.

This assessment comes almost a week after reports that Melania and her team had been in the process of renegotiating their prenup agreement. Last week, the Page Six publication reported that the former first lady had been renegotiating her marriage contract with Donald Trump.

This was to ensure that she would be left with enough money in the event his financial woes continue, as a result of his ongoing legal troubles, legal fees and multiple indictments, according to reports. Page Six did not reveal the identity of the source of this information.
Insider’s Comments on Prenup
“Over the last year, Melania and her team have been quietly negotiating a new ‘postnup’ agreement between herself and Donald Trump,” the insider told the publication.
Third Prenup Negotiation Says Source
“This is at least the third time Melania has renegotiated the terms of her marital agreement.” The source clarified that this is not because the former first lady intends to go anywhere.
Melania’s Concerns
“Melania is most concerned about maintaining and increasing a substantial trust for their son, Barron, [aged 17],” the source continued. According to the source, the latest agreement provides for Melania, and spans money and property.
Ron Filipkowski’s Take On The Prenup
Filipkowski reflected on this news earlier this week while speaking with journalist Anthony Davis on the Meidas Touch Uncovered podcast. During the podcast, Filipkowski said he had predicted the renegotiation of the prenup back in May.
Filipkowski’s Prediction
“You can always tell what’s going on behind the scenes,” he said during the podcast. “That was my prediction back in May, when this Fox News story came out,” The podcast then showed a Fox News headline that read: “Melania fully behind Trump’s 2024 campaign, says it would be a ‘privilege’ to serve as first lady again.”
“She Wanted Out,” Filipkowski said of Melania
Filipkowski continued: “The context of this was Melania had disappeared for months, no one had seen her for many months and she was not attending any events with Trump, none of the dinners. “The reports were that she was angry and wanted nothing more to do with politics, like Ivanka, same thing. Wanted nothing more to do with campaigning, she wanted out.”
Melania Wanted To Be A Private Person After White House Stint
“She wanted to be a private person with her son and I absolutely believe that is the case,” he said. “So I think Trump and his campaign people fully understood that that is going to be a big problem. “If she doesn’t at least get out there a little bit and show her support, it is going to look really bad.”

“So you have this Fox story come out and what I said at the time is, knowing them and their relationship is very transactional, there was no doubt in my mind that he sweetened the prenup to get her to do the bare minimum,” Filipkowski said.
Melania Not Seen on Trump’s Campaign Trail
“She gave like a 5-minute interview to Fox saying she was in favor, that is about the only thing she has done. She hasn’t made an appearance on the campaign trail yet,” he added.
“I nailed it,” Filipkowski Joked as He Reflected On His Prediction
“So I speculated, knowing them as I know, that this prenup got renegotiated and then it was just confirmed this week. So that did happen at that time, so I nailed it,” Filipkowski continued. “The last time the prenup was negotiated, it was over Stormy Daniels. When the news broke about the Stormy Daniels stuff during 2016, she renegotiated the prenup back then to continue to stay with him and stay on board.”

Earlier this year, Trump’s alleged affair with actress Stormy Daniels in 2006 resulted in him being charged with 34 counts of falsifying business records by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg for allegedly paying $130,000 for her silence. This was allegedly in order to prevent this news from coming out ahead of the 2016 presidential election.
The Longer Melania Stayed With Trump the More Money She Would Get
Davis added, that if this is true, it would indicate that during Trump’s presidency, his marriage to Melania was in fact transactional. Filipkowski continued: “Her original prenup had escalator clauses that the amount of money she would get if they divorced would go up the longer she stayed with him. “It also went up if she had a kid, it is pretty funny.”
