Things are getting worse and worse for Mike Lindell, CEO of MyPillow. His lawyers have requested permission to withdraw from his defamation case, citing a lack of payments.

The controversial CEO’s legal team has asked the judge if they may remove themselves from the case. This decision is down to Lindell’s financial issues. He’s currently facing a $1.3 billion lawsuit involving Smartmatic and Dominion Voting Systems.

Andrew Parker, a lawyer, has said that Lindell owes a lot of money. Moreover, the CEO himself has confirmed that he’s struggling to pay and respects the decision. According to Parker, continuing to represent MyPillow would pose a huge financial risk.
A Lack of Payments

Parker also said that Lindell failed to make any payments toward the end of 2022. Then, in May, some payments were made over 60 days late but they didn’t cover the full bill. No payments were made whatsoever in July and August.
A “Stolen” Election

Parker warned Lindell that his firm would have to leave the case if things continued as they were. The CEO has faced a lot of financial difficulty in recent years, albeit down to his own decisions. He supported Trump’s false claims about the 2020 election being stolen and, in response, several retailers stopped stocking his products.
A Contract Breach

Moreover, Lindell was asked to hand over $5 million to a software engineer earlier in the year. This was a result of a contract breach. The CEO had used data in an attempt to back up unfounded claims that China helped President Biden win the 2020 election.
Lindell’s Blind Support for Trump

Lindell has been very open about the challenges his company is facing. Regardless, he says he has no intention of filing for bankruptcy. MyPillow’s financial situation is widely considered to be a result of Lindell’s blind support for Trump’s false claims, actions which led to the lawsuit he is now in the midst of.
The Internet’s Response

News of Lindell’s legal team’s decision was shared across the internet and people flocked to comment sections to give their opinions on the matter. For the most part, they said he only has himself to blame.

Others turned the discussion to Trump, who’s facing 91 criminal charges across the country, and talked about his tendency to destroy the lives of those around him. One person spared a thought for Lindell’s innocent employees whose livelihoods are likely ruined.
Be Angry at Trump

One social media commenter said: “He should be mad at Trump. He’s the one who says he’s holding onto the evidence that proves the election was rigged. Why would he not want to help his close friend and fellow election denier from losing his business? Hmm.”
Traitors Need Jail

Another person wrote: “Trump steals even from his colleagues. He proves his criminal life every day! He uses them, plies them with fake positions of power, befriends them, and then robs them! Ahh, everyone warned Mike. Now he is just another Trump victim! Hope he gets jailed soon. Traitors need jail!”
Financially Ruined, Indicted, or Jailed

Others found it hard to believe that Trump supporters seemingly don’t see the pattern in what happens to those close to him: “You would think Trump supporters could take a hint. Everyone who has sided with him has either been financially ruined, indicted, or jailed.”
Lindell Did This to Himself

Another commenter wrote: “Lindell did this to himself. He should’ve quit the nonsense as soon as he saw the results of the election showing Biden won. [He shouldn’t have] listened to a person who couldn’t accept losing.”
They Can’t Win

One individual said the departure of Lindell’s lawyers indicates that they know he can’t win: “If they thought he could win, they would have stayed but, like Trump, the lawyers know they cannot win so they want their money and out.”
The Big Lie

Another person said: “The only people I feel sorry for are Lindell’s employees. Once upon a time, they had what were probably good, stable jobs. Now their lives and the lives of their families will be ruined… all because Lindell bought into the big lie.”
A Fast Track to Destitution

Others said that blindly following Trump is a “fast track” to homelessness and poverty: “Lindell thought he was powerful due to his worship of a criminal. Now he’s learning, as others have, that it was a fast track to destitution.”
Mega Liar Whiney Donnie

One person celebrated Lindell’s downfall: “Seeing all these morons lose their businesses and reputations due to their support for mega liar whiney Donnie is music to my ears. Trump said he would hire the best and brightest from the corporate world when he campaigned for the 2016 election.”
The GOP and Ignorance

The commenter continued: “Mikey wasn’t included. Neither was Rudy. All of those ‘best and brightest’ left his admin when they found out how stupid he was. Ignorance is killing the Republican Party.”
Trump’s Many Bankruptcies

Another person wrote: “And they call themselves successful businessmen… Trump had to file bankruptcy seven times while pillow fluff in so $1.3 billion in the hole. And when all trials are over, Trump may have a reason to file again because he may have lost most of his money by then.”
