During the civil trial related to the lawsuit brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James against him and his businesses in the state, Former President Trump engaged in a heated exchange with New York Judge Arthur Engoron while testifying. After his testimony, Sean Hannity went on X to report the news but faced severe backlash and accusations of “peddling lies.”

Sean Hannity posted on X (Twitter) in response to Trump’s testimony in his fraud trial, “TRUMP: ‘This is the first time this method of cheating in an election has been so blatantly used in the USA as a POLITICAL WEAPON!’” with a link to an article he wrote covering the trial.

Users Responded Calling Hannity a Liar.

Users were quickly responding to Hannity’s post, with one user posting, “YOU GOT SUED FOR LYING DUDE !” Another posted a picture of Hannity with the text, “We got sued for $787 million for lying, but people still listen.” Another user posted Hannity was a “liar” and “Fox needs to fined another few hundred million.”

Peddling Lies and Misinformation

“As usual, you are peddling lies and misinformation,” posted another user. A further X user asked, “Did Fox write that $787 million settlement yet?” The backlash came in response to a Defamation suit brought by Dominion Voting Systems.

Fox to Pay $787.5 Million to Settle Suit

As Trump continues to push allegations of electoral fraud and claims that the 2020 election was “rigged,” Fox News recently settled a defamation suit with Dominion Voting Systems.

Suit Filed by Dominion Voting Systems

As part of the settlement, Fox News had agreed to pay $787.5 million to resolve the defamation suit. The company filed the suit over Fox News’ promotion of misinformation about the 2020 election.

Exposed the Inner Workings

New York Times wrote, “The settlement, one of the largest ever in a defamation case, was the latest extraordinary twist in a case that has been full of remarkable disclosures that exposed the inner workings of the most powerful voice in conservative news.”

Fox Acknowledged That Some Claims Were False.

The New York Times also reported that, “In addition to the huge financial price, Dominion exacted a difficult admission from Fox News, which acknowledged in a statement that ‘certain claims’ it made about Dominion were false.”

Hannity Interviewed Eric Trump

Hannity interviewed Eric Trump after facing backlash on X to discuss his father’s testimony concerning his ongoing New York fraud trial. As the trial heated up between Judge Engoron and Trump, Hannity asked Eric, Trump’s elder son, for his opinions on the case.

No One Has Been Harmed

“There’s bad people out there every day that mess around in business and cause harm. No one has been harmed,” argued Eric, telling Hannity that the Trump Organization had made New York Banks “a ton of money” and declared, “They love us.”

There Is No Victim.

“I can’t believe this is being allowed to happen in New York. There is no crime. There is no victim.” “No one has been harmed—the exact opposite, in fact. Our banks, I keep on saying, have made a ton of money and love us. It doesn’t make any sense, Sean,” Eric Trump stated, eagerly attempting to defend his father and the Trump Organization.

Banks Have to Do Due Diligence

Hannity then continued by talking about how banks were responsible for completing their due diligence and wouldn’t necessarily rely on Trump’s financial statements.

Eric Urges AG James to Think About Trump Employees

Eric Trump also took to Fox News to urge Attorney General Letitia James to think about the thousands of Trump Organization’s employees who would be negatively affected by the company’s dissolution.

Trump Insisted There Was No Crime

Trump has also been insisting there “was no crime” in his family business. However, Judge Arthur Engoron has already ruled to the contrary.

Trump’s Lawyer Said There Was No Victim

Kise, Trump’s lawyer, also backs up the family’s argument. Kise has also said there was no victim, and AG James should note what the Banks are saying regarding the conduct of the Trump Organization.

Hannity Said Trump May Win on Appeal.

During his interview with Eric Trump, Hannity suggested that Trump may win on appeal if the judge was “fair.” “I guess if there is any comfort, I have a hard time believing that this would stand on an appeal if you get a fair judge—if you’re able to get a fair judge—in New York,” Hannity said.

James, “Racist and Evil”

Trump posted before his testimony, lashing out at Judge Engoron and AG James. He said on Truth Social, “Got a really Biased, Nasty, Club controlled, but often overturned, Judge, a Racist, Evil, and Corrupt Attorney General, BUT A CASE THAT, ACCORDING TO ALMOST ALL LEGAL SCHOLARS, HAS ZERO MERIT. A dark day for our Country. WITCH HUNT!”

I Have Not Had a Witness Testify Better.

Kise, a lawyer for Trump, told reporters, “In my 33 years, I have not had a witness testify better. He’s not backing down. He’s told everyone the facts. Now that the American people know what’s going on, maybe something will change.”

Net Worth More Substantial

“The numbers of my net worth are substantially more than the number you have in the financial statement,” Trump argued during the trial. “Therefore, you have no case,” he exclaimed.

“You Were Not President in 2021”

A user took to social media to mock Trump’s testimony. One user posted, “My favorite line so far from the Trump trial today: NY attorney: Did you get copies of statements in 2021? Donald Trump: I was so busy in the White House with China, Russia, and keeping the country… NY attorney: You were not the President in 2021.”
