Former Fox News host Megyn Kelly has no love for the Democratic vice president, Kamala Harris, and has savaged her as “very dumb” and a “moron.”
‘All Talk’
Outspoken Kelly, who was once a darling of the right but who says she’s an independent, also tore into White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, saying both she and Harris spoke gibberish. “[Harris] and Karine Jean-Pierre are cut from the same cloth — actually saying absolutely nothing with tons of words toward that end. It is a skill that shouldn’t be underestimated … it’s an embarrassment,” she said on her podcast The Megyn Kelly Show.
‘Obvious Drivel’
The 52-year-old claimed that the liberal media and even the Democratic Party had little time for the vice president. “So we’ll laugh at this because it’s obvious drivel. But the left-wing press, they don’t like her. Even the Democrats don’t like her,” she said in a commentary.
Potential ‘Hit Piece’ on Kamala Critics
The journalist suggested it wouldn’t be long before something would emerge in the left-leaning media criticizing those who lashed out at the vice president. “Give it like another six months, and you’ll get the hit piece on why we’re all sexist and misogynist and racists for having any fun at her expense whatsoever,” she said.
Harris ‘Very, Very Dumb’
Not holding back, Kelly blasted the vice president:
“I did not think she was an idiot. I now think she’s a moron. She’s not that smart. Forgive me, I’m still one of those people who gets wooed by titles like, ‘She was the attorney general in the state of California.’ You know, how dumb could she be? Like, dumb. The answer is very, very dumb.”
‘Just Not Smart’
Kelly continued with her rant against Harris, alleging that the vice president was not intelligent.
“I come to that conclusion just with my own eyes and ears from watching and listening to her. She cannot put two sentences together. She’s just not a smart person, and it concerns me because that’s all we have in line at the Democratic side.
‘President Harris’
Kelly suggested that Harris could become president if her boss expired during a second term, given his advanced age.
“It looks like it’s going to be the same matchup, and honestly, Joe Biden’s knocking on the Grim Reaper’s door, and she could be the president of the United States in the next six years by default if things go in a dark and upsetting way. I’m concerned.”
Biden-Harris 2024 Ticket
President Biden, 80, is campaigning for a second term in office, in the presidential election in November next year, and has again chosen Harris, 58, as his running mate. While neither the Democrats nor the Republicans have yet chosen their candidate for the race, polls show Biden is the clear favorite, as incumbent, and that his likely rival is former president Donald Trump, who Biden beat in the 2020 election.
Biden Health Concerns
There are concerns that President Biden may not be capable of running for office again, given his age and recent stumbles and gaffes while walking and giving speeches. At a recent press conference in Vietnam, an aide cut his microphone and abruptly ended the event after Biden evidently became confused and didn’t know what he was talking about.
Trump Woes
As for Trump, he is also facing difficulties heading into the presidential race, most especially concerning a raft of federal and civil charges against him. Some relate to the fallout of the 2020 election in which Trump urged supporters to march on the US capitol. Rioting ensued and five people were killed. Trump has been indicted for allegedly attempting to overturn the results of the election and block the peaceful transfer of power — charges he denies.
Kelly as the Target
Kelly is no stranger to attacks by public figures on herself. At a Republican Party presidential debate in 2015, she drew candidate Trump’s ire by asking him if he was suitable for the nation’s highest office given his fiery temperament. The exchange exploded into a series of slurs against the reporter that Trump made on social media before the two had a meeting at his Trump Tower residence and reconciled.
Cable News ‘Snake Pit’
Kelly left Fox News in 2017, due to what she said on The Ellen Show had become the “snake pit” of primetime cable news — and also because of her experience with Trump. She went on to work for NBC, but her time at the broadcaster was short-lived and she then started her own podcast, which is live daily on satellite and online radio station SiriusXM.
Fox VP Jibe
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Vice President Harris is also not popular at Republican-leaning Fox News. In a segment, contributor Tom Shillue said: “Nobody could have seen this coming because we knew that voters didn’t really like Kamala Harris too much. She never really had much support. You know, and she attacked Joe Biden, and then he made her his vice president. And then she came into office. We thought, well, she’ll grow into the role. She’s gotten worse. She has gotten worse.”
