Friday Night
The man said it was a Friday night when he came home from work. It had been a long week, and he just wanted to relax and make the most of his weekend.
Not a Good Start
It wasn’t a good start to his weekend when he noticed someone on his block was having a party. While it shouldn’t affect him, it did because someone from the party had parked on his driveway.
A Narrow Driveway
The man shared the size of his driveway, to give a better idea of his predicament. He said, “My driveway is a single car width lined with a retaining wall on both sides and a garage at the end.”
No Room for a Tow Truck
This would have made it impossible for a tow truck to enter and pull the intruding car out without property damage. He didn’t want to risk this, and the potential cost of repairs.
Parked Behind the Entitled Parker
Figuring this out, and noticing the lack of street parking, the man made a decision. He said, “I took this as a cue to park right behind them in my driveway.”
Settled Down for the Evening
The man had some food, then sat back and relaxed in front of the television. It wasn’t long before he was interrupted.
A Knock at the Door
After a few hours, the parker knocked at the homeowner’s door demanding he move his car so she could leave. The man found her tone very demanding.
Said He Had Been Drinking
Because of her demanding tone, he decided to tell her he had been drinking and would not be able to move his car from his own driveway.
She Called the Police
When the woman was unable to move her car from the driveway, she called the police. She told the owner of the driveway that they would force him to move his car for her.
The Police Arrived
He described his actions when the police knocked on the door. Before answering, he made sure to grab a beer from the fridge. Then he went to talk to the officer.
I’ve Been Drinking
He said, “I informed him that after I got home, I was unwinding and had been drinking. So, I was in no shape to drive.”
Nothing the Police Could Do
At this point, the police officer couldn’t do much. he couldn’t tow the woman’s car out, and as far as he knew, the man was in no shape to drive. Also, his own car was legally parked in his own driveway.
It’s Going To Be a Long Weekend
He told the entitled parker that since it was a long weekend, he would be on a weekend-long bender. So, he wouldn’t legally be able to drive during this time.
When Can I Move My Car?
She wanted to know when she could move her car. He told her to come back and move it after he went to work on Tuesday.
Not Happy
The woman was not happy, and most likely had any plans ruined that involved driving during the weekend. However, the man felt vindicated, knowing there was little she could legally do.

Although this meant he had to stay home all weekend, or only leave home on foot and was unable to travel far, he thought it was worth it. He hopes the woman has learned her lesson about where she parks in future.
