GOP Candidate Ramaswamy a “Kinder, Gentler, Hateful Mini-Trump” That People Are Liking Less, According to Polls

In a recent IOWA poll, likely GOP voters said they looked at Republican candidate Vivek Ramaswamy more unfavorable now than they did back in August, as the recent poll revealed his unfavourability rating grew to 37%. Furthermore, the GOP candidate closely aligned himself with Trump saying he would pardon Jan 6 rioters if he were to become President.

“People Like You Less When They Get To Know You.”

During a live interview, CNN’s Jim Acosta asked Ramaswamy, “Are people liking you less once they get to know you, and isn’t that a problem?”

Unpopular in South Carolina and Iowa Polls

Acosta highlighted a new CNN poll stating that in South Carolina, “60% of primary voters have ruled out considering you.” “This comes on the heels of another poll out of Iowa showing that you’re underwater with voters there,” Acosta continued to add the “Percentage of Iowans who view you unfavorably has risen from 20% in August to now 37%.”

The Problem Is the Super PACs

“I think the problem is the Super PACS. The Super PACS are a cancer on American life,” replied Ramaswamy, stating that he had been in a solid 2nd to 4th position throughout his campaign.

It’s a Dirty Sport

“This is politics, it’s a dirty sport,” Ramaswamy added, further stating that he would not be intimidated by anyone. “We’re doubling down,” he said, “I am confident I am gonna be the nominee. I am confident we are going to do well in Iowa and New Hampshire and the other early states,” and concluded that would be the path he needed to take to win.

Going in the Wrong Direction to Win

“I think we are going to deliver a surprise in Iowa,” declared Ramaswamy to Acosta. Acosta refuted his claims by asking, “Aren’t you going in the wrong direction?” saying he should be “surging” in the polls, not going downward.

Super PACs Cancer on American Politics

Ramaswamy continued to argue that it was due to the Super PACs, repeating his earlier comments, “Super PACs are a cancer on American politics.” He further stated he was the only politician with a “spine” to say it.

Protestors Should Not Be in Prison

Acosta and Ramaswamy then had a heated exchange over the Jan 6 rots and the fact that Trump had referred to the rioters in prison as “hostages.” Acosta asked, “Do you agree with Trump that Jan 6 rioters are hostages?” “I believe many peaceful protestors on Jan 6 should not be in prison,” responded the Republican hopeful.

The Media Is Responsible

Acosta then asked, “Isn’t it irresponsible to call them hostages with what’s going on in Israel right now?” Ramaswamy tried to side-step the question by laying blame on the media. “The real accountability lies with the media,” he stated, and then accused networks like CNN of lying.

Ramaswamy Agrees Jan 6 Rioters Are Hostages

Acosta then pushed for an answer, “The question is, should they be called hostages?” Ramaswamy then answered, “I believe in the spirit of it,” further stating that he didn’t believe many of the prosecutions were “just.” He concluded by saying, “That’s not justice; that’s injustice.”

Protestors Would Be Pardoned

Ramaswamy went even further and said if he became President, he would pardon the Jan 6 rioters. “Any peaceful protestors they will earn a pardon from me on day one. And I will stand by that.”

US Should Not Be Protecting Ukraine

Ramaswamy has recently come under fire over his comments regarding Russia’s invasion and US funding of Ukraine in their battle to retake its territory. Ramaswamy has called support for Ukraine “disastrous” and said that military resources should go towards protecting the American border, not a foreign border.

Ukraine Should Give up Regions in Deal With Russia

Speaking on “Andrea Mitchell Reports,” the GOP nominee declared he proposed a “deal” that would mean Ukraine would have to give up any territory Russia has taken and agree not to become a NATO member.

Russia Must Break Ties With China

Stating the “crucial” part of the deal would be that Russia would then have to exit any military agreements it had previously made with China.

Let Putin Win Despite War Crimes

Mitchell asked Ramaswamy, “Isn’t that letting Putin win despite his war crimes?” “Andrea, you conveniently left out the most important part of the deal, which is what the United States wins out of it,” Ramaswamy responded.

China Is the Greatest Threat

Ramaswamy called Russia’s relationship with China the “single greatest threat that the United States faces today.” While at the same time underestimating Russia’s ability to invade more countries.

Russia Is “A Paper Tiger”

Ramaswamy has previously stated in a Saturday morning interview on Fox News. “This is one more piece of evidence that Russia is likely a paper tiger,” “The idea that Russia has the capabilities that go for Poland or other parts of Western Europe looks increasingly farcical,” he stated.

Unqualified for Office

Views on the GOP candidate were mixed online, with some saying they didn’t know much about him and more stating he did not have enough experience to run for Presidency. One user posted, “Specifically with regard to Vivek, he is a tech-bro with no political or government experience at all which, to me, makes him unqualified for that office.”

Ideology Doesn’t Go Beyond “Anti-woke”

Another user said, “I will be honest, I dont know a ton about him, but he seems to be another person with no political experience whose ideology doesn’t go beyond being “anti-woke.” Beyond that, some of his positions, like raising the voting age to 25 are just weird.”

Another suggested he was looking to steal the VP position from Republican Greene if Trump was to win the 2024 election. “He is auditioning to steal MTG’s role as Trump’s VP. He had a great audition tonight. He was a kinder, gentler, hateful mini-trump out there,” a user posted.
